The concept of Community Libraries is a fairly new trend and involves the setting up of libraries in community hubs/centres.
Reasons for co-location:
- The need to provide safe places to serve the community
- Lack of funding to construct libraries
As the Tobago Library Services prepares to establish a Community Library in the underserved community of Castara, four senior members of staff travelled to Trinidad to tour three of NALIS’ community library projects:
Mt Hope/Mt Lambert Community Library
Beetham Gardens Community Library
Barataria Community Library
