This service started on 11^th May 1956 in rental accommodation and moved to its own modern spacious accommodation on May 26^th, 1995 some 39 years later.

On May 26th 2016, the library celebrated 60 years of service to the Charlotteville community. A thanksgiving service was held to mark the occasion. During this ceremony the auditorium was named the Arthur Moore Auditorium in honour of Arthur Moore (deceased), for his long years of service at the Charlotteville Branch Library.
