You are cordially invited to a lecture promoted by the Repair Campaign, featuring Dr. Rita Pemberton, at the Scarborough Library on Thursday, April 30, 2026 @7pm.
The Repair Campaign, led by Dr. Lovell Francis in Trinidad and Tobago, is the brain-child of Mr. Dennis O’Brien, Digicel’s founder and chairman, guided by the 2014 CARICOM 10 Point Plan for Reparatory Justice. It seeks to amplify Caribbean voices calling for reparations and get former colonial powers to commit to a long-term reparatory fund for Caribbean countries affected by slavery and colonisation.
The campaign aligns with one of the outcomes of the Tobago Sankofa Conference that Tobago CivilNET and the Council of Elders is engaged in working on at the present time. The Tobago Sankofa Conference, scheduled to begin in July, 2026, is a Self-Repair project, whereas the Repair Campaign is a Reparatory Justice project.
We look forward to your full participation in these two important events.
There will be a Q&A session to which you can bring all your questions on reparations. Kindly circulate this invitation widely.
Complimentary refreshments will be served at the lecture.
