The Tobago Library Services acknowledges International Youth Day today! International Youth Day is held on August 12th each year and focuses on the challenges that some young persons are experiencing throughout the world. Unfortunately many youths encounter challenges and have limited access to necessary resources that can open the door to a better future.The United Nations established International Youth Day to raise awareness of these issues and aid in the search for solutions. World Humanitarian Day

“Do not sit and wait for a saviour to come, be the saviour for the people in despair” – Abhot NaskarThe Tobago Library Services celebrates World Humanitarian Day. This day is observed on August 19th each year to acknowledge those persons who were killed in a bomb attack in the Canal Hotel in Baghdad, Iraq in 2003. In honour of the persons who died in the attack and as well as those who continue to put their lives on the line to help people in need. National Literacy Month

September is considered National Literacy month and the Tobago Library Services continues to celebrates the gift of reading and knowledge. On Wednesday 20th September, the Honourable Ayanna Webster-Roy participated in a storytelling session held at the Roxborough Branch Library.Children from the Belle Garden Anglican School and the Roxborough Anglican School were invited to participate.
